Main areas of focus:

  1. Genetic and environmental determinants of CKD progression and CVD outcomes in CKD.

  2. High throughput phenotyping pair with sequencing data to identify the subset of individuals with genetic causes of common diseases and identify undiagnosed patients, particularly ESRD patients that have the potential to be transplant candidates.

  3. Gene*Gene and Gene*enviroment interaction analysis-particular interest in diet (APOL1 and salt, potassium, oxalated and DASH diet) and CKD progression.

  4. Emulation trials using drug exposures from the EHR (CER, RWEA, etc)

  5. Multi-omic approaches and Mendelian Randomization analyses for drug discovery and drug repurposingand causal inference .
