The Holowatyj Lab focuses on improving clinical care and outcomes for patients diagnosed with gastrointestinal cancers.
Our research program spans from cells to society--using a unique approach with both patient studies and laboratory-based projects--to investigate three major research areas in oncology. These are:
Cancer genetics and biology/etiology;
Health disparities (e.g. genetic ancestry, race/ethnicity, sex, geographic region);
Cancer survivorship and the unique challenges facing young individuals after a cancer diagnosis.
