Why use AIDET?
VUMC strives to deliver excellent service to our patients, customers and colleagues. We use AIDET to introduce ourselves as professionals, begin interactions and de-escalate situations which may not be going well. This process is a part of using Key Words at Key Times, one of our "must haves" that we consistently use to improve our culture of service. It allows you to communicate clearly and effectively, reduces anxiety and increases confidence.
