Kiiya Shibata, M.S., CCC-SLP
Kiiya Shibata, M.S., CCC-SLP, is a speech-language pathologist and PhD candidate whose work brings together clinical practice, academic research, and community advocacy to improve care for people living with primary progressive aphasia (PPA) and frontotemporal degeneration (FTD). Her research focuses on understanding how care is delivered in PPA and on developing assessment tools that are both scientifically rigorous and reflective of real-world communication. She is particularly interested in advancing approaches that support more personalized prognostication and meaningful engagement across the course of disease. Through this work, she aims to bridge gaps between clinical, research, and community priorities to better serve individuals and families affected by rare and complex neurodegenerative conditions.
