Emma Whatton started her CVICU journey as a Nurse Resident and it has been a true delight to see her transform into a nurse powerhouse! Rumor has it that she is gas station coffee built and kickball bred, which makes sense when you watch her perform as Help All-mighty and full of energy. One of the night charge nurses said, “Emma is a charge nurse’s dream Help All, the most helpful and kind”. Emma is also very compassionate, caring deeply about many of her patients. She will give up a 1:1 patient just to continue her time with her patients from before. IF you know ICU life, that’s huge. She is smart, funny, organized, engaging, nice and a great resource. Emma uses all these great characteristics as one of our Unit Board Co-chair as well as preceptor of new staff and students. She has elevated the unit board structure and how staff participate. Respected by so many, we can’t image not having Emma in the CVICU! Seriously, you can’t leave… ever. Congratulations on EMPLOYEE OF THE QUARTER! You Nailed it!
