VIDEO: A Pharmacist & a Physician Discuss Paxlovid

 There are new treatments for patients who test positive for COVID-19, including an antiviral medication called Paxlovid™. Infectious disease pharmacist Ben Ereshefsky and Dr. Tom Talbot, Chief Hospital Epidemiologist for Vanderbilt University Medical Center, engaged in a discussion of Paxlovid™. These treatment options are available for patients with higher risks of developing serious symptoms from COVID-19, including older adults (ages 50 years or older, with risk increasing with older age), people who are unvaccinated, and people with certain medical conditions, such as a weakened immune system.
