This update emphasizes multidisciplinary coordination among Surgery, Anesthesia, and Pediatric Hematology for pharmacologic prophylaxis in surgical patients with ≥2 VTE risk factors. The risk profile has been expanded to include steroid use, TPN, and monoclonal antibody therapy in IBD patients.
