Frequently Asked Questions

  • You are eligible if you are a spouse/partner of a new recruit or a newly relocated hire (resident, faculty or staff) who has lived in the Nashville area for less than a year.

  • Our program provides the relocating employee's spouse/partner with information about the local job market, critiques of resumes and cover letters, interview coaching, job search strategies and referrals, and information about the Nashville community.

  • Your spouse's or partner's recruiting department will contact the Dual Career Program office. After that referral, you can set up a meeting with Amy Smith, manager of the Dual Career Program. We recommend that you complete the Dual Career Intake Form first. After the form is submitted, you will be contacted to set up an initial phone call or meeting.

  • The program does not guarantee employment or placement. We do help clients identify job opportunities, update job-seeking skills and obtain networking contacts. Please note that your own job-search efforts are critical to the success of the program.

  • As a Dual Career Program participant, your file will be coded in our application system providing visibility to all recruiters. The recruiter will advise the hiring manager of your participation in the program at the time of your referral. The hiring manager will select the candidate with the best qualifications for the position.

Your references should be people who can speak with a great degree of validity about your past professional contributions, accomplishments and successes. Colleagues in your particular field or previous supervisors are your best references.
