The mission of the two-year Vanderbilt Vitreoretinal Surgery Fellowship program is to provide competent, compassionate retina care while educating the next generation of leaders in retina. 

Our fellowship program, established in 2004, provides a broad-based education covering the gamut of retina subspecialties providing our fellows a well-balanced and complete medical and surgical education that will prepare you for any future practice. Beyond this, at Vanderbilt we are a family - dedicated to mentoring you, supporting your career goals, and providing a collaborative environment for you to succeed. 

Application process 

The Vanderbilt Vitreoretinal Surgery Fellowship Program is registered with the Association of University Professors of Ophthalmology (AUPO) fellowship compliance program and meets guidelines set forth by the AUPO fellowship compliance committee.

All applications are accepted through SF Match. Applicants are encouraged to submit an application as early as possible; applications will not be accepted after August 30, 2024. Candidates for our fellowship must meet the following qualifications:

1.    Must possess MD, DO, or equivalent degree
2.    Must have completed an accredited US ophthalmology residency program
3.    Must be eligible for board certification and TN licensure

Interviews will be held on Thursday, October 24th and Friday, October 25th 2024.
