Welcome

Purpose

The Vanderbilt Antimicrobial Stewardship Program (VASP) provides oversight of antimicrobial therapy.

Our goal is to improve patient outcomes, optimize antimicrobial use and reduce healthcare resources related to the prophylaxis and treatment of infectious diseases at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Policy

VASP employs a multifaceted approach to antimicrobial oversight, including prospective monitoring and feedback as well as recommendations to clinicians and patients regarding antimicrobial use.

The program collaborates with the Division of Infectious Diseases, Infection Control and Prevention, Clinical Microbiology and the Department of Pharmaceutical Services.
