Research Information

Dr. Sheffield is a clinical psychologist whose research focuses on the advancement of treatment for psychosis. Dr. Sheffield's lab uses neuroimaging, computational psychiatry, and intervention research approaches in an effort to identify novel treatment targets for psychotherapy. Currently, the Sheffield lab is conducting a randomized clinical trial to test the impact of CBTp on the cognitive process of belief updating in individuals with persecutory delusions. In addition, Dr. Sheffield's K23 award from the NIMH supports the investigation of how cognitive and affective processes change over the course of recovery from an acute psychotic episode.
