Jennifer Barrett, PhD

Jennifer provides comprehensive scientific support for key proposals and project manuscripts within the Institute for Population and Public Health (IPPH) and the Department of Emergency Medicine. Based in the Center for Health Services Research (CHSR), Jennifer primarily supports the research programs of Center for Emergency Care Research and Innovation (CERI) Director Dr. Sean Collins, CHSR Director Dr. Sunil Kripalani, and IPPH Director Dr. Russell Rothman. Before joining IPPH in 2023, Jennifer worked as a research and grant consultant for over a decade, contributing mainly to projects in medical and health-related fields. She also has experience as a faculty member in sociology and research methodology at research universities in the United States and the Netherlands. Jennifer holds a PhD in sociology and demography with a specialization in reproductive health from The University of Texas at Austin.
