Matt Lucas, MMHC, BSN, RN, CNOR

Matt Lucas is a Clinical Staff Leader for the Pediatric General Surgery and Urology Service lines at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt’s Operating Room.  After graduating from Belmont in 2013, he began his nursing career in MCJCHV’s Emergency Department as a Pediatric Nurse Resident.  From there, he joined the Holding Room/PACU team for 2 years before transitioning to the Operating Room where he has spent the last 6 years. He assists in the facilitation and preparation required for upcoming surgical cases.  He strives to lead and professionally develop approximately 20 direct reports consisting of RNs, LPNs, and CSTs.  He is currently a Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR) and has recently obtained his Masters in the Management of Healthcare from Vanderbilt University.
