Study of the mechanisms of the assembly and function of collagen IV networks and their dysfunction in normal kidney and in three different renal diseases (Goodpasture disease, Alport syndrome and diabetic nephropathy). A second major area of my research interest is focused on the etiology of Goodpasture autoimmune disease, with an emphasis on the molecular structure and properties of the human autoantibodies and the collagen IV autoantigen.
