Robin Jones, PhD, CCC-SLP

Robin M. Jones, Ph.D., CCC-SLP, is an Associate Professor of Hearing and Speech Sciences in the Vanderbilt Bill Wilkerson Center. He currently serves as the Vice Chair for Faculty Development in the Department of Hearing and Speech Sciences and Director of the Developmental Stuttering Laboratory. Following the completion of his doctoral degree at Vanderbilt University in 2012, Dr. Jones was a postdoctoral trainee at The Ohio State University. During his predoctoral and postdoctoral research training, Dr. Jones developed a profound interest in studying the pathogenesis of developmental stuttering. In particular, his research focuses on speech-language, cognitive, emotional, and genetic contributions to the development of persistent versus transient stuttering in young children and the translation of this work to diagnosis and treatment. Dr. Jones and his lab has received funding from the National Institutes of Health, Vanderbilt Kennedy Center, Vanderbilt Institute for Clinical and Translational Research, and the National Stuttering Association to support this research. Dr. Jones focuses significant effort on these research activities as well as education on stuttering. In addition to his focus on research and teaching, Dr. Jones leads faculty-focused matters for his department as part of his role as Vice Chair for Faculty development such as recruitment, retention, tenure, promotion, and resource allocation. As part of this role, he also serves as a liaison with faculty groups in the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine.
