Two 3 Tesla MRI Scanners

3 Tesla MRI Scanners

94 cm bore Philips Intera Achieva MR whole-body imager/spectrometers. Both represent state-of-the-art systems with excellent gradient performance (80 mT/m gradient strength, 200T/m/s slew-rate), 32 independent digital receiver channels, dual-channel excitation (one of the two systems). The 3 T scanners are operated as full-time research instruments, and not as clinical facilities. Both 3 T systems have Philips peripheral pulse, respiratory and cardiac gating capabilities as well as audio/visual presentation equipment available. They are housed at the Vanderbilt Institute of Imaging Science.

7 Tesla MRI Scanner

7 Tesla MRI Scanner

7t MRI90 cm bore Philips Achieva whole-body MR imager/spectrometer. The scanner has a moving bed and an intercom system for communication between investigators and subjects. The system has the same software, pulse-programming environment, and pulse sequences as current 3 T Philips scanners. The 7 T system has Philips peripheral pulse, respiratory and cardiac gating capabilities as well as audio/visual presentation equipment available. This scanner is also housed at the Vanderbilt Institute of Imaging Science.

The Measurement Room

The Measurement Room

The measurement room is where non-MR measurements are taken and manual lymphatic drainage therapy is performed for the lymphedema and lipedema studies. This room is located at the VUIIS next to the 7 Tesla MRI and one of the 3 Tesla MRIs. The room number is AA0117F and can be reserved through the human imaging core iLab.

Center for Quantitative Cerebrovascular Physiology and Reactivity

Center for Quantitative Cerebrovascular Physiology and Reactivity

Located right next to one of VUIIS's 3 Tesla MRI machines in room AA0117CA, the Center for Quantitative Cerebrovascular Physiology and Reactivity is where various gas cylinders and gas mask parts are stored for gas challenges.

Perometer room

Located at AA0110 at VUIIS, this room houses equipment for the lymphedema and lipedema studies as well as computers for the Donahue lab and collaborators' use. This room contains the Perometer, L-Dex, Physiotouch, InBody, and Delphin, all non-invasive instruments used for research. It also is used as a workspace for the Donahue lab and collaborators at Vanderbilt.
