AND’s Food and Nutrition Expo (FNCE)

In the 2022-2023 year, students will attend FNCE virtually.  The registration fee to attend FNCE is paid for by gifts from alumni of the VUMC Dietetic Internship Program.

Health Insurance

All Allied Health Students are required to be covered by health insurance during their training. Students should seek private healthcare insurance options, or enroll via the government healthcare exchanges.

Enrollment Fee

Upon acceptance of an appointment as a dietetic intern, an enrollment fee of $250.00 is required. This fee secures the intern's position in the program and is credited back to the first semester tuition payment.

Scholarships

The VUMC Dietetic Internship Scholarship for Historically Excluded Groups is available for students enrolled in the VUMC Dietetic Internship program. Inclusion of historically excluded or underrepresented groups can strengthen the food, nutrition and dietetics profession and help meet the needs of an increasingly diverse population.  Interns are given the option to self-identify in one or more of historically excluded or underrepresented groups based on ethnicity, gender, or military status.

During internship orientation in August, students receive application information.  Applications are due in December.  Applications for the VUMC Dietetic Internship Scholarships are reviewed by a Scholarship Committee and scholarships are awarded in January.  The number of scholarships and the amount of scholarship awards will vary from year to year, based on funds available.  Alumni of the VUMC Dietetic Internship fund the scholarships.
