In 1929, the Dietetic Internship at Vanderbilt graduated the first class of dietetic interns. Since it’s beginning, over 1000 entry level dietitians have graduated and are now serving communities in both the United States and abroad.

We have strategically developed an internship network of 65+ preceptors and 25 rotations in clinical, food systems management and community practice venues.  Our network supports the development of entry level practitioners that are difference makers and leaders.

Charitable Gifts

Private gifts help strengthen our programs so that we can train future dietitians to become leaders and make an impact in the areas of food and nutrition. To continue offering an excellent educational experience for our dietetic interns, we need your help.

In 2019, your donations provided:

  • Qualitative Research Poster Printing – interns participated in a series of qualitative research training sessions and worked in teams to conduct research. Each team presented their research findings in posters and discussed results within interprofessional teams.
  •  Iron Chef Cooking at Whole Foods Market – interns learned basic knife and culinary skills and worked in teams to prepare a budget friendly meal from baskets of mystery ingredients.
