Hong Zhang, PhD

Assistant Professor

Dr. Hong Zhang is a medical physicist and Assistant Professor in Radiation Oncology. He received his B.S. in Biomedical Engineering (second degree: Computer Science) from Shanghai Jiaotong University in Shanghai, China and his M.S. in Statistics and Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from the Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, NJ USA. He was trained in the Medical Physics Residency Program at Indiana University, IN USA. He worked for 1 year at Reading Hospital, Reading USA as a clinical medical physicist and 3 years at the University of Maryland, MD USA as an assistant professor. He joined Vanderbilt as an Assistant Professor in the spring of 2023.

Dr. Zhang is certified in Therapeutic Medical Physics by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) in 2021 and is a member of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM).
