Antonis Rokas, PhD

Antonis Rokas, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Biological Sciences in the School of Arts and Sciences and an Associate Professor of Biomedical Informatics in the School of Medicine at Vanderbilt University.  He is also currently the holder of the Cornelius Vanderbilt Chair in Biological Sciences. His research in combines computational and experimental approaches to investigate the factors influencing phylogenetic accuracy and their usefulness in obtaining more robust phylogenies, the molecular origins of human pregnancy, and the molecular foundations of the fungal lifestyle. 

Dr. Rokas received his PhD from Edinburgh University, post-doctoral training at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and was subsequently a research scientist at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard.
