Paula Campbell, MS, MPH
Paula Campbell, MS, MPH serves as the Program Manager for the VVRP’s Clinical Immunization Safety Assessment (CISA) Project, a national collaborating network of vaccine safety experts from the CDC’s Immunization Safety Office (ISO), 7 academic centers, and other partners. As VUMC is the lead site for CISA, Ms. Campbell supports consultations for U.S. healthcare providers with complex vaccine safety questions about their patients and conducts vaccine safety clinical research. Ms. Campbell brings a background in education, training, and academic research that has led her to seek to improve the health and well-being of underserved people both globally and locally. A native Nashvillian, she received her B.A. (Psychology) from Georgetown University, her M.S. (Urban Education) from Mercy College, and her M.P.H. (Global Health) from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. Since 2013, her research interests have focused on capacity building in global health, particularly infectious diseases of global importance and finding ways to reduce their burden. Ms. Campbell also serves as the vaccinology fellowship coordinator, supporting scholars completing training in vaccine clinical trials research with the VVRP.
