The application opportunity for our 2020 Teen Summer Program is now closed.
If you are between 16 and 18 years old and wish to volunteer at the Adult Hospital during the summer, we have limited opportunities available on a first-come, first-serve basis. We will accept applications from the first business day of February through the end of March, OR until the program fills up. We accept teen volunteers in these roles:
Distribute puzzles, activity packets, games, magazines and other items to families in the waiting areas. Visit with families, help with directions and provide general information and assistance.
Volunteers Needed: Seven days a week, 8:00 a.m. - .8 p.m.
Assist staff in identifying patients and families who need assistance while visiting the Medical Center. Meet, greet and escort patients and visitors around the hospital during their stay.
Volunteers Needed: Monday - Friday 7:00am-5pm (busiest time 7:00am 2:00pm)
Provide support and comfort to patients and families by offering refreshments, conversation, and resources in multiple clinic areas. Assist with specific projects as needed.

You will need to make a minimum commitment of one 2-3 hour shift for eight weeks with no more than two consecutive weeks of absences. We require our summer volunteers to commit to at least 25 hours of service over the duration of the summer.
Prior to applying, all potential summer teen volunteers and their parents or guardians should consider the following:
Will you be 16 by March 1 of the current year?
Are you going to summer camps; summer school; mission trips; vacations; have work commitments; involved in sports?
Does your summer schedule allow you to volunteer eight weeks with no more than 2 consecutive weeks of absences?
Are you available to volunteer once a week, same day and same time every week?
Do you have consistent transportation?
Are you mature, outgoing, friendly, proactive and willing to engage people as you help them?
