Fellowship Project: An exploratory study to determine the influence of HIV viral suppression on gastric pre-malignant lesions, pH and Helicobacter pylori infection
Dr Violet Kayamba, earned her Internal Medicine specialization in 2012. Ever since, she has been actively involved in gastrointestinal cancer research with a focus on the interaction with viral infections, including HIV. She is a lecturer at the University of Zambia, and her work also encompasses teaching and clinical practice. Dr Kayamba, has in the recent past presented her work at several International conferences in Europe including the United European Gastroenterology Week, the British Society of Gastroenterology Week, ISHEID and the IUNS International Congress of Nutrition. In 2013, she earned the poster of distinction award at the British Society of Gastroenterology Week in Scotland. Dr Kayamba has also attended several short courses and workshops that have contributed to career advancement. She is currently the president of the Zambia Association of Gastroenterology and Nutrition. She intends to pursue a PhD in gastroenterology make a substantial contribution to research in Zambia.
