Research Topic: Early life exposures and cardiometabolic health in adulthood among urban Indians

Dr. Subramanya will spend her fellowship year at the Centre for Chronic Disease Control in New Delhi under the mentorship of Alvaro Alonso, MD, PhD, Shivani Patel, PhD, Dorairaj Prabhakaran, MBBS, MD, DM, MSc, and Poornima Prabhakaran, MBBS, MSc, PhD. Her research will focus on characterizing early life influences and evaluating their effect on cardiometabolic risk among adults aged 40 years and older in India. Dr. Subramanya completed her MBBS at the M.S. Ramaiah Medical College and Teaching Hospital in Bangalore, India, an MPH at Johns Hopkins University, and is a second-year PhD student in epidemiology.
