Dr. Masenga will spend his fellowship at the University of Zambia and University Teaching Hospital in Lusaka under the mentorship of Sody Munsaka, MSc, PhD, Annet Kirabo, DVM, MSc, PhD, Selestine Nzala, MD, MPH, Leta Pilic, MSc, PhD, FHEA, Douglas Heimburger, MD, MS, Holly Cassell, MPH, and John Koethe, MD, MSc. His research will focus on developing a novel and non-invasive test to diagnose acute salt-sensitive hypertension (ASSH) and implementing an HIV integrated personalized care approach to the prevention, diagnosis, control, and treatment of salt-sensitive hypertension. Dr. Masenga trained at the University of Zambia for his BSc, MSc, and PhD. He has received several international scholarships for travel and presentations. He was awarded as among the Top 1% of reviewers in Immunology on Publons Global Peer Review Awards of 2018. Dr. Masenga has great ambition to be a leader in hypertension research and has long term plans of opening a research laboratory in Zambia to be able to conduct cutting-edge experiments.
