Dr. Jarrett will spend his fellowship year at the Aurum Institute in Johannesburg under the mentorship of Gavin Churchyard, MBBCh, FCP (SA), MMed, PhD, Yuri van der Heijden, MD, MPH and Violet Chihota, MSc, PhD. His research will focus on design and analysis of short course tuberculosis preventative therapies among HIV-positive individuals. Dr. Jarrett received his PhD in biostatistics from Vanderbilt University in 2021 with a focus on pharmacokinetic modeling and the optimal design of experiments. His interests include the mathematical modeling of infectious diseases, immune system responses, and the development of optimal treatment regimens.
