Research Topic: Navigating outcomes in pediatric hydrocephalus and spina bifida in Zambia
Dr. Reynolds will spend her fellowship year at University Teaching Hospital in Lusaka under the mentorship of Chevis Shannon, MBA, MPH, DrPH, MERC and Kachinga Sichizya, MD. Her research will focus on navigating outcomes in pediatric hydrocephalus and spina bifida in Zambia.
Dr. Reynolds attended the University of California, San Diego as a Regents Scholar. She graduated in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Bioengineering, earning summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa honors. She credits this period in her life as the beginning of her combined interest in global health, community service, and wilderness outreach. Dr. Reynolds received her medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in 2015.
She is currently a fourth-year resident in neurological surgery at Vanderbilt with an interest in pediatrics. Dr. Reynolds plans to pursue a post-residency fellowship and ultimately become an academic pediatric neurosurgeon with a clinical and research practice based both in the United States and in Africa.
