Research Topic: Hypertensive crisis among adults

Dr. Kisigo will spend his fellowship year at Mwanza Intervention Trials Unit in Mwanza under the mentorship of Robert Peck, MD, PhD, Elialilia Okello, PhD and John Bartlett, MD, MPH. His research will focus on adapting and evaluating an evidence-based, peer counselor intervention that will address hypertensive crisis among adults in the Mwanza region. Dr. Kisigo is a Tanzanian trained physician. He received a Master of Science in Global Health at Duke University in 2020. He worked for three years at the Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Center (KCMC) in Moshi, Tanzania, where he was part of a long-term collaboration between the Duke Global Health Institute and KCMC.
