Daniel Muñoz, MD, MPA

Dr. Muñoz is an Associate Professor in the Division of Cardiology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. His clinical research is currently focused on the development of innovative strategies for lowering cardiovascular risk and improving patient outcomes in high-risk primary prevention settings, including the care of critically ill patients in the coronary care unit, as well as the care and counseling of patients in the primary and secondary prevention settings.  Prior to joining the Vanderbilt faculty, Dr. Muñoz completed a year of clinical research fellowship at the Duke Clinical Research Institute. He completed internal medicine residency and cardiovascular medicine fellowship at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he served as an Assistant Chief of Service on the Osler Medical Service from 2009-2010. Dr. Muñoz obtained his medical degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and a Masters in Public Administration from Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government.
