Resuscitation training information updates

In response to the evolving COVID-19 public outbreak, Resuscitation Training and Development and Nursing Education and Professional Development will be implementing the following changes to course operations:

We will grant a 60-day extension to course completion cards that are expiring in March and April 2020.

Effective Wednesday, March 18, 2020, we will only offer courses for initial certification which will include BLS, ACLS Provider (2-day), PALS Provider (2-day), Heartsaver AED, and NRP. All PEARS, EOR, ACLS Renewal, PALS Renewal, and NRP Renewal courses will be canceled until further notice.

Who should sign up for resuscitation training courses in March and April?

  • Those who need initial certification to meet the requirements of their job
  • Those whose certification cards expired prior to March 1, 2020

Effective immediately, we will be un-enrolling anyone who does not meet the criteria for registration above.

Registration is open to:

 •  Medical Center faculty & staff
 •  School of Medicine students with VUMC privileges and IDs
 •  School of Nursing students with VUMC privileges and IDs
 •  University faculty & staff with VUMC privileges and IDs

Registration is through the VUMC Learning Exchange. You must use your VUMC ID to log in.

Plan Ahead:

  • Use the course calendars to identify sessions that will work with your schedule.
  • Set a reminder to register on the 15th of the month.

Register:

  • Register via the Learning Exchange.
  • Avoid changing sessions once you have a seat in a class. Changing sessions may place you on a waitlist and you may be unable ot get your previous seat back.

Prepare:

  • Read your registration email for course requirements and preparation information.
