I grew up in Cedar Rapids, IA and attended Iowa State University.  I earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Biochemistry here and studied the epigenetics of metabolic disorders in Drosophila melanogaster at Iowa State under Dr. Kristen Johansen.  I also spent a summer at the University of Tennessee investigating the role of gut microbiotic diversity in malarial infection with Dr. Steven Wilhelm as a part of their NSF REU program.  I also participated in the Harvard Amgen program and studied inflammatory signaling in the bone marrow at Boston Children's Hospital with Dr. Leslie Silberstein

Research Information

As a graduate student in MHI in the Denison lab, I am focusing on mechanisms of viral interference and replication in Coronaviruses.
