Elenoe “Crew” Smith, PhD speaking Feb. 21

NASHVILLE, Tenn. On Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2017, Elenoe “Crew” Smith, PhD will present "Genome Engineering Reveals Therapeutic Potential of Non-Coding Bcl11a Regulatory Elements for Sickle Cell Disease" at 512 Light Hall on Vanderbilt's campus. The lecture begins at 11 am.
 
 Smith is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Division of Hematology Oncology at Boston Children’s Hospital.

Community viewing of 'Service to Man' Feb. 19

'Intimate Partner Violence Exposure and Cardiovascular Disease (CVD): Is There A Link?' scheduled Feb. 1

NASHVILLE, Tenn. On Wednesday, Feb. 1, the Department of Internal Medicine will once again present Medical Grand Rounds with Leslie Halpern, DDS, MD, PhD, MPH and Janet H. Southerland, DDS, MPH, PhD discussing the following topic: 'Intimate Partner Violence Exposure and Cardiovascular Disease (CVD): Is There A Link?' Dr. Halpern is an Associate Professor and Director of the OMFS Residency Program, and Dr. Southerland is a Professor in the School of Dentistry.

'Factors Affecting Hypertension Control' scheduled Jan. 25

NASHVILLE, Tenn. On Wednesday, Jan. 25, the Department of Internal Medicine presents Medical Grand Rounds, with Ayodeji A. Oso, MD, FACP presenting "Factors Affecting Hypertension Control." Oso is an Associate Professor of Medicine, Director of the Pamela Williams Clinical Skills Center and Chief of the Division of General Internal Medicine. He will begin his presentation at 12:10 pm at the S.S. Kresge Learning Resource Center, Lecture Hall 3.

Lane Provostial Professor, and Vice Chair for the Theory and Practice of Medicine at the Stanford University Medical Center School of Medicine.
