Medical Grand Rounds presents 'Health Care Reform: From ObamaCare to the American Health Care Act'

NASHVILLE, Tenn. On Thursday, June 1, 2017, the Department of Internal Medicine and Nashville General Hospital at Meharry will present Medical Grand Rounds, with Gilbert Gonzales, PhD discussing "Health Care Reform: From ObamaCare to the American Health Care Act."

Gonzales is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Policy at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He will speak from 6 - 7 pm at the Cal Turner Family Center in Auditorium 1.

 

OBJECTIVES

  • List the characteristics and role of health insurance coverage in the United States, particularly for low-income populations.
  • Discuss the relative merits of public health insurance expansions under the Affordable Care Act and their impacts on health disparities.
  • Discuss the replacement health care reform plan known as the American Health Care Act.
