Software Store Partners with Procurement to Offer New Discounts

The ITS Software Store frequently receives requests from the community to add more discounted products to its catalog. The ability to add a product depends on whether or not the manufacturer offers a licensing model that:

• Guarantees cost recovery for ITS
• Enables ITS to stock product keys and electronic downloads
• Allows ITS to distribute as soon as a department approves an order

For suppliers that don't offer licensing models with these characteristics, the Software Store suggests that departments purchase through a reseller that offers a Vanderbilt discount. To this end, the Software Store has negotiated discounted pricing through En Pointe Technologies, Inc. for Attachmate, Business Objects, Symantec, and TechSmith products. These products include Reflection, Crystal Reports, Ghost, SnagIt and Camtasia. In addition, we have partnered with Procurement and Disbursement Services and En Pointe to provide the community with an En Pointe punch out for these products through eProcurement. Shoppers with eProcurement access can use these Vanderbilt discounts by: 1. Logging into eProcurement with a VUnet ID and password 2. Clicking on SHOP eCATALOGS 3. Choosing CatalogsEn Pointe Technologies from the External menu The order fulfillment process will vary with the manufacturer, but may include an electronic download link sent via email, or a physical boxed product sent via FedEx or UPS. More manufacturers (e.g. VMware, ProSoft, GraphPad) will be added to En Pointe's punch out in the future.
