Christopher Sizemore, DO
Dr. Sizemore attended medical school at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine, followed by residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He also serves as the Section Director for the VUMC Section of Global Women’s Health. He established and maintains long-term bidirectional partnerships with hospitals in Kenya and Haiti. These partnerships allow for ongoing resident education in women’s health and global surgery training, as well as training for local physicians and other members of the multidisciplinary medical teams.
Dr. Sizemore is working to develop a global health scholars program that will encompass two years of community health and Global Health training to incorporate didactics, mentorship, skill-based simulation, Global Health field experience and presentation of a Global Health project. He is also developing a global health and community health track for residents to participate in during their residency training.
Dr. Sizemore’s areas of research include:
• Global surgery training, specifically laparoscopic surgery skills in resource limited settings;
• Curriculum development for resident education in global and community health; and
• Management of postpartum hemorrhage.
