Thesis Topic: Breast cancer and germline risk variants
I’m a PhD student in Epidemiology at Vanderbilt University. My interest is the genetic epidemiology, and I investigated the association between adult body weight gain and health outcomes using data from Shanghai Cohort Studies. I also conducted a candidate gene association study using TWAS design focusing on high penetrance genes for breast or colorectal cancer risk. I received my M.P.H degree in Environmental Health Sciences from Yale School of Public Health, and a B.S. in Biological Sciences from Peking University. Before the admission, I worked as a research assistant in Division of Epidemiology at Vanderbilt Medical Center for one year. Vanderbilt University has a great reputation for research in public health, with excellent faculties and top facilities, and well-designed courses. The PhD program at Vanderbilt will help me to achieve my career goal.
