Meet the Senior Associate Dean
As of July 1, 2021, Dr. Consuelo H. Wilkins is Senior Vice President and Senior Associate Dean for Health Equity and Inclusive Excellence, leading the Office for Diversity Affairs in their mission to insure and expand upon diversity, inclusion and health equity for Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) and Vanderbilt University School of Medicine (VUSM). She is a Professor of Medicine for VUMC/VUSM where she oversees a portfolio of programs in clinical research, education and population health and is also Associate Director for the Vanderbilt Institute for Clinical and Translational Research. Dr. Wilkins, an elected member of the National Academy of Medicine, is a widely-recognized thought leader in health equity and has pioneered new approaches to engaging marginalized and socioeconomically disadvantaged populations in clinical research.

I am Dr. Kimberly Vinson, a 2003 graduate of Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and the Associate Dean for Diversity Affairs at VUSM.
I am delighted that you are interested in learning more about the diversity of Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. We strive for and value all forms of diversity in our students, house staff, and faculty. It is this diversity that allows us to provide excellent teaching, patient care, and contributions to medicine through research.
As a graduate of the Vanderbilt School of Medicine, former fellow, and the Associate Dean for Diversity Affairs, I am proud to be part of an organization that provides the utmost support for students, residents, and fellows during their training.
