Ms. Hanchrow is a Registered Nurse with over 30 years of experience, and she obtained a B.S.N. from Birmingham-Southern College, and an M.S.N. from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.  Liz first started at Vanderbilt in 2001, working in inpatient and adult clinic areas as a staff nurse. Prior to focusing on informatics in 2011, her varied clinical background included Oncology, Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Pediatric Urology, and Women’s Health as a staff nurse. Before joining our department in 2014 as a nurse annotator supporting development and evaluation of Natural Language Processing tools, Liz worked as an Informatics Nurse/Evidence-Based Medicine Specialist providing HEO Wiz Order CPOE EBM Order Set support to all adult Vanderbilt Heart, Oncology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, and General Surgery inpatient teams. Currently, she supports  VA Observational Medical Outcomes Partnership (OMOP) users as a Help Desk Concierge and documentation/data mapping analyst.
