DEA Drug Takeback

According to the 2018 National Survey on Drug Use and Health, 9.9 million Americans misused controlled prescription drugs. The study shows that a majority of abused prescription drugs were obtained from family and friends, often from the home medicine cabinet.

The DEA’s Take Back Day events provide an opportunity for Americans to prevent drug addiction and overdose deaths. This year, Vanderbilt's Team Hope & DORE Initiative are hosting Drug Takeback Week to raise awareness about drug takeback locations on campus which provide safe disposal, free of charge, no questions asked.

Bring your expired or unused prescription or over-the-counter medications to one of the three locations below between October 19th and 24th:

Vanderbilt Children's Outpatient Pharmacy - 2200 Children's Way, Room 2106

Vanderbilt Outpatient Pharmacy - 1301 Medical Center Drive, Suite 1815

Vanderbilt Pharmacy Medical Center East - 1215 21st Ave. South, Suite 1006
