Neuroradiology

Neuroradiology

The Neuroradiology section supports large, busy neurology, neurosurgery and ENT practices, and all departments in need of sophisticated neuro-imaging at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. The section is staffed by 14 ABR-certified neuroradiologists, some of which have subspecialty interest and expertise in head and neck and neuro-vascular imaging and spine procedures. Section members work closely with the clinical services, and meet jointly at regularly scheduled conferences, including Brain Tumor Board, Head and Neck Tumor Board, and Neuro-vascular Conference.

The section is an active participant in the Code Stroke initiative. While Neuro-Interventional is in a separate department, the initial evaluation of the stroke patient is performed by members of the Neuroradiology section.

Extensive research opportunities exist in partnership with members of the Vanderbilt University Institute of Imaging Science, which includes more than 40 Ph.D. scientists that support clinical investigation, teach radiological physics and engineering, and participate directly in quality assurance.
