Coaching, Counseling, and Consultation

performance coaching

Work/Life Connections-EAP's team of clinicians conduct assessments and provide recommendations focused on the specific needs of employees. Performance Coaching focuses on enhancing productivity and workplace effectiveness through goal-setting and skill-building. Counseling for acute life stressors is brief and solution-focused. Employees needing longer term or more specialized counseling for ongoing issues will be given resource information and referrals to community providers. Consultation services are available to guide supervisors in addressing performance issues and difficult workplace situations.

Located in the basement of the Medical Arts Building, Work/Life Connections-EAP offers free and confidential services to VUMC employees and their spouses.

Please call 615-936-1327 to schedule an initial assessment appointment to determine what service best meets your needs.

Employees may also opt to search for a longer-term provider on their own. Read about how to find a mental health provider based upon your insurance coverage.

Building Resilience

Resilience

As we each face difficult challenges and change, Work/Life Connections-EAP provides programs to foster the resilience of VUMC's faculty and staff.

We can help build team resilience by providing interpersonal skills training for your department. For the individual, our performance coaching can also help individuals develop and enhance interpersonal skills. Our manager consultations can assist leaders with approaches to help their teams navigate change.

Watch the video, "Building Resilience: Turning Challenges into Success," which highlights how individuals can manage attitudes, invest in developing interpersonal skills, and make health lifestyle choices.

Visit the Resilience Toolkit to learn about the attitude, skills, and lifestyle required to "bounce back" from adversity and stress.
